Spring 2024 Rec Program Information

Early bird fee with a 10% discount off the regular registration fee through January 15, 2024. 

Regular registration fees - January 16 - February 15, 2024. 

$25 late fee starting February 16, 2024 and player may be wait listed for a team.


Cary Soccer Rec Program - General Information

Cary Soccer has offered a variety of Rec Programs since 1976.   The Rec Program is not open to players that are currently rostered on a competitive/travel soccer team.

Programs are available by age for our Little Kickers and U6 program and by age group based on the Birth Year Matrix below for U8 and up.  Determine your player's age group on the chart and click on the tab for details about the program we offer for your age group.  Each age group tab will provide you with 2024 spring program and season information.  

Cary Soccer Coaching Staff and volunteer Rec Coaches - ALL of our Cary Soccer Coaching Staff and volunteer Rec coaches over the age of 18 must complete the following online Illinois Youth Soccer Association (IYSA) and US Soccer requirements through the IYSA  generated SportsEngine platform:

  • Background check - National Center for Safety Initiatives, LLC (NCSI) - third party verification
  • SafeSport Training from the US Center for SafeSport
  • Concussion Training - National Alliance for Youth Sports

At a minimum, all coaches have also completed US Soccer's Grassroots Intro to Coaching Module.

We are unable to honor special team requests (specific coach requests, friend requests or practice day requests) due to the number of players (325+ in our Rec Program each season) and other various factors that impact the rostering process including:

  • Balance of age and number of players on each team
  • Availability of volunteer coaches
  • Balance of returning players from the fall 2023 season and new players in the spring 2024


Tuesday Night Rec Skills Sessions with CSA Coaching Staff

Available to Rec U10, U12 and U14 players at NO additional cost.

Sessions run by Cary Soccer Coaching Staff with assistance from the volunteer rec coaches.

Tuesdays on the following dates:

April 9, 16, 23, & 30

May 7, & 14

U10 will attend 4:30 - 5:30 pm

U12 & U14 will attend 5:30 - 6:30 pm

NOTE 1:

The above fees exclude the Volunteer Opt Out Fee if choosing not to volunteer (Note 2), purchase of a jersey and pinnie/scrimmage vest  (Note 3), and also the 2.9% + $0.75 per transaction handling and processing fee charged by third party provider.

NOTE 2:

FAMILY VOLUNTEER REQUIREMENT: Cary Soccer Association is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization that is supported significantly by volunteers. Volunteers help keep our fees down by eliminating the need to pay for critical roles that are essential to operating the program (e.g., field setup/striping). As such, a volunteer requirement has been established to encourage volunteer participation for each family whether they have players in our Cary Defenders competitive program, Cary Soccer recreational program, or both.  Families with players in our recreational program will have a choice to volunteer a minimum of 1 hour or pay a family Volunteer Opt Out Fee of $20. If you have player(s) already registered in our Cary Defenders competitive program for the 2023-2024 season, you will not be required to make any further selections regarding volunteering or paying the Volunteer Opt Out Fee.

NOTE 3:

JERSEYS: Due to a very unexpected discontinuation of our previous rec jersey, all players will be required to purchase the new jersey for this spring season. This jersey may be reused in future seasons until the player needs a new jersey or moves up from U14 to high school. All players Little Kickers through U14 will have the same jersey. The high school jersey will be the same but will have numbers as required by their league.

PINNIES/SCRIMMAGE VESTS:  All players U6 and older are required to have at least 1 yellow pinnie/scrimmage vest that may be used for future season. The pinnie/scrimmage vest may be purchased through the registration link for $6.

REFUND POLICY

REQUESTS FOR REFUNDS MUST BE SUBMITTED IN WRITING TO finance@carysoccer.org.

Full refunds (less $15 cancellation fee) will be provided through February 15th. A 50% refund will be provided between February 16th and March 15th (date when all rostering is complete and teams set). NO REFUND REQUESTS WILL BE HONORED AFTER March 15th. At the discretion of the CSA Board, a discretionary credit (or refund) may be considered for a season ending injury, a relocation of 50 miles or more or any other extreme situations impacting a season (e.g., COVID-19). A cancellation fee of $15 would also apply for medical/relocation reasons.


COVID-19 GUIDELINES AND PROTOCOLS

Guidelines for sports are subject to change at any point based on governmental requirements. Should the state loosen or tighten any restrictions during the season, we will be required to follow those changes.  State and McHenry County guidelines are referenced below:
