Welcome to THE U8 YOUTH ACADEMY, a training program specifically designed for all players between the ages of 6 and 8 (or those in 1st or 2nd grade). The U8 Youth Academy is organized and run by Cary Soccer Association. It is a unique opportunity for recreational players, who aspire to play travel soccer, to receive professional soccer training and develop their technical skills while enhancing their enthusiasm for the sport.
The program is run by Caulbert Smith, Cary Soccer's Director of Coaching. The professional coaching staff is made up of coaches who have a reputation as being some of the best in the area. They are teachers of the game who have a successful background in working with children, and a combined total of over 50 years of coaching experience. The staff has a commitment to quality and dedication to the development of young soccer players. Some of the elements of the program are:
The U8 Youth Academy is the first step toward becoming an elite player. The U8 Youth Academy offers a progressive training program to enhance the players technical ability over the course of 2 years, and will enhance their skill for more competitive play. The most successful players will eventually graduate and become a part of a Cary Defenders Travel Team.

If you played Youth Academy during the 2010-11 season, you do not need to purchase a new uniform for the 2011-12 season.
