"CREATING AN ENVIRONMENT FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF ELITE SOCCER PLAYERS"

Welcome to THE U8 YOUTH ACADEMY, a training program specifically designed for all players between the ages of 6 and 8 (or those in 1st or 2nd grade). The U8 Youth Academy is organized and run by Cary Soccer Association. It is a unique opportunity for recreational players, who aspire to play travel soccer, to receive professional soccer training and develop their technical skills while enhancing their enthusiasm for the sport.

The program is run by Caulbert Smith, Cary Soccer's Director of Coaching. The professional coaching staff is made up of coaches who have a reputation as being some of the best in the area.   They are teachers of the game who have a successful background in working with children, and a combined total of over 50 years of coaching experience. The staff has a commitment to quality and dedication to the development of young soccer players. Some of the elements of the program are:

• Two Weekly practices for 1 hour each (fall and spring) and 1 hour per week training during the winter months.
• Structured training program implementing the KINS (Kicking Is Not Soccer) method
•  Putting techniques to practice in U8 Academy league games (fall & spring)
• Select players would also partipate in "Festivals" & "Friendly Scrimmages" against other local Academy programs

The U8 Youth Academy is the first step toward becoming an elite player. The U8 Youth Academy offers a progressive training program to enhance the players technical ability over the course of 2 years, and will enhance their skill for more competitive play.  The most successful players will eventually graduate and become a part of a Cary Defenders Travel Team.

Program Costs 2011/12 Season:

• $550 plus uniforms
• $45 Uniform Cost (this is an approximate cost at this time)

Payment Options:

• Payment in full by credit card, cash or check upon registration
• Pay in 2 installments by credit card or e-check upon registration, and 10/1/11

If you played Youth Academy during the 2010-11 season, you do not need to purchase a new uniform for the 2011-12 season.

If you are a returning player, please email Mary Claire Sopchyk at MaryClaire.Sopchyk@carysoccer.org and provide me with your jersey number from last year so that we do not have any duplicate numbers.

If you only need to order socks, please email MaryClaire.Sopchyk@carysoccer.org with the number of pairs needed as well as the size.
