College Athlete Program

Overview

Cary Defenders take a lot of pride in the players that go through our system and go on to play college soccer. Currently we have over 20 players that have gone on and received college soccer scholarships to continue their soccer careers.  We have implemented a program that supports the aspiring high school player in the process of searching for and obtaining a college scholarship to play soccer.  For more information, please read the Overview of the College Athlete Program and other important documents below.  Please check back for new information and contact Caulbert Smith with any questions.

Tournaments/Camps

College ID Camp

The 1st Annual College ID Camp will take place in the McClain Indoor facility January 6-7, 2012!

This camp is designed for players and prospects to gain a better understanding of the demands of division 1 college soccer.  Over the course of 2 days our staff will train these athletes as if they were current members of the UW soccer team.  Within these trainings we will utilize our UW players as demonstrative assistants to help you directly compare your strengths and weaknesses.  By the end of the weekend you should have a great understanding of where you are with your development and what tools you need to concentrate on before entering the collegiate environment.

This is a great opportunity for those players who visualize playing soccer in college to come out and see where they stack up!
